Technical Help in Engineering and Marketing (THEM) and Multivac have announced the North American launch of Snapsil easy-open portion packs.
The Snapsil semi-rigid container has been developed by Australia-based Snapsil and features an audible 'snap-opening' function that allows consumers to easily open the package.
According to THEM, Snapsil portion packs will be produced on the Multivac thermoforming packaging machines.
The pouch will make its thermoformed debut in a single-serve offering of tomato sauce in August with three brands set to launch during the second half of 2013.
The package has a comprehensive array of configurations and is said to be suitable for various food, personal care, healthcare and household products.
Customers using Multivac thermoforming packaging machines can introduce the Snapsil package by adding new tooling.
With product evaluation, testing and contract packaging services, THEM will support the Snapsil partnership.
Later in 2013, the initial Snapsil production lines will be commercially operational at THEM's contract packaging and development facility in Marlton, New Jersey.
