LED packaging service provider Everlight Electronics has acquired an existing factory in central Taiwan from optical disc maker Ritek at a price of up to NT$1.3 billion (US$41.3 million) to expand production capacity by 25%. Production at the factory will begin in 2016, according to the company.
The factory occupies 32,155 square meters (7.95 acres) and has total floor area of 46,638 square meters (501,998 square feet), Everlight said. In order for the capacity expansion, Everlight will raise funds through issuing 5-year zero-interest unsecured convertible bonds worth NT$5 billion, the company indicated.
Everlight posted consolidated revenues of NT$30.569 billion, gross margin of 24.77%, net operating profit of NT$2.642 billion, net profit of NT$2.181 billion and net EPS of NT$5.12 for 2014 and will distribute a cash dividend per share of NT$4.
