Luxembourg-based printing and packaging supplier Flint Group has opened a new low migration ink mixing station in its facility in Moscow, Russia, a move that will expand the company's sheetfed production and distribution network in the country.
The investment in the Moscow facility is in line with the company's strategy to grow in key markets, as well as providing optimal performance and consistency of products to its customers across the globe.
This will allow the company's Russian entity to support its local package printing customers by optimizing logistics and improving lead times.
Flint Group EMEA sheetfed sales vice president Romain Boulot said: "This investment reflects our commitment to the Sheetfed printing industry and especially to our folding carton customers.
"It will complete our geographical footprint and strengthen our local service by offering state of the art local mixing service, including conventional and UV Low Migration spot colours.
"Our conventional and UV Low Migration product portfolio quality and consistency is well recognised; we are committed to providing the best supply service across all regions."
The company installed the low migration ink mixing station following GMP guidelines and meeting European Printing Ink Association (EuPIA) recommendations for food packaging printing.
In June this year, the company formed a joint venture with Continental Printing Inks and Eagle Ink Systems in South Africa to achieve synergies in supply of ink and coatings.
The new entity, Flint Group Africa, will cater to the packaging and print media markets in South Africa and the sub-Saharan region.
