GWP Group, a protective packaging firm for defence products, has secured a place in the Ministry of Defence Framework Agreement (FATS/4) for packaging products' technical support.
As a result of the inclusion, customers would be able to work with all of the GWP units, which include GWP Packaging, GWP Protective for custom flight cases, GWP Coatings, and GWP Conductive which deals in anti-static packaging.
GWP Group chief executive David Pedley observed the defence sector encompasses a number of challenges, and their long track-record in protective packaging was instrumental in getting them this accreditation.
The inclusion on FATS/4 is expected to result in financial benefits for GWP, and the framework also reportedly covers Metropolitan Police Service, Forensic Science Laboratory and Home Office.
"Our Protective division has produced packaging for the defence industry for many years and our expertise and experience has helped us win this valuable place that will benefit the whole of the company." added Pedley.
GWP is based in Cricklade, UK and reportedly has 350 suppliers across a wide variety of industries and sectors.
