At this year's Vitrum trade show (Milan, 23 to 26 October), two brands with a long tradition showcased the highlights of their product ranges in hall 13. Alfa Romeo took a look back at the history of racing by exhibiting a number of historic sports cars. About 50 metres further, the Austrian company LiSEC displayed top-notch solutions for flat glass processing.
LiSEC focused on a few major innovations at this year's Vitrum. Besides the brand-new GCL glass cutting table – the table LiSEC had reserved for visitors to the show in a marketing campaign – most of the interest was centred on a pre-lamination press for laminated glass production, a revised butyl applicator, a new bending machine with desiccant filling system, and the new KSU, a vertical system for glass edge arrising and grinding.
LiSEC does not only stand for flat glass processing machinery but is also the only manufacturer in the industry developing control and monitoring software. The new features offered by LiSEC software solutions include: The quality management solution LIS.qms, which can be fully integrated into both GPS.order (administrative solution) and GPS.prod (production planning and control), offers comprehensive quality control, production process tracking and data analysis including reporting, in accordance with the new EU Construction Products Regulation. The delivery solution LIS.delivery enables the user for the first time to check and edit scanned processes on the PC before transferring them to the system. In addition, online database queries, for example regarding the rack content or the number of commissioned units, can be processed in real time.
"The Vitrum show was a great success and exceeded all our expectations. We were not only able to secure a number of important orders but also discussed specific near-term projects with a lot of customers. We were particularly pleased that so many regular customers visited the LiSEC booth," says Othmar Sailer, CEO of the LiSEC Group.
With this impetus, the LiSEC team is getting prepared for the most important show in the industry, Glasstec, which will be held in Düsseldorf in October 2014.
