North America based plastic packaging designer and manufacturer Placon has launched the completely recyclable Selectables packaging range with a custom packaging look.
The sustainable food packaging range also features inserts that makes it easy to keep wet and dryfoods separate and helps in increasing a product's shelf life.
The company said that the packaging encourages impulse sales ensuring that high-cost or delicate foods never get hidden or sink to the bottom of the package.
Placon director of stock products Jeff Lucash said: "Placon is really adding a way to maximize the merchandising of foods with stock packaging that has a true custom container feel to it. The packaging is extremely versatile letting you pack a virtually limitless combination of foods together for high-margin, pre-packed, fresh meal solutions."
The packaging range will be available in 7 - or 9-inch clear or black stackable bases with 24 to 48 ounces capacity.
The one to three compartment and portion-sized inserts are equipped to carry food items including seasonal cut fruit, candied nuts, meats and cheeses.
The company's EcoStar food-grade PET from curbside-collected, discarded bottles and thermoforms that Placon recycles back into Selectables packaging has been used to develop the recycled bowls, inserts and lids.
The containers range was launched along with Fresh 'n Clear GoCubes square containers, inserts and lids.
Placon specialises in producing custom and stock thin gauge thermoformed plastic clamshells, trays and blisters with an environmentally-responsible line of recycled PET rollstock materials.
