Checkpoint Systems Made Food Label for Supermarkets

Supplier of shrink management solutions Checkpoint Systems is set to unveil the 4010 EP Food Label, a new enhanced performance (EP) anti-theft Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) food label for supermarkets.

Designed specifically to protect fresh and frozen supermarket food, the label has been certified as microwave safe and non-flammable by TUV Rheinland, a global provider of technical, safety and certification services.

Checkpoint Shrink Management Solutions president & COO Farrokh Abadi said the new 4010 EP has been designed expressly for food and offers risk free optimized protection.

"By offering maximum protection and enhanced deactivation at the point of sale, food retailers can improve merchandise availability and enhance their consumers' shopping experience while increasing sales," Abadi said.

The 4010 EP Food Label can be applied through high-speed source tagging at the point of manufacture, or through in-store tagging, said the company.
