Salt of The Earth Is Set to Introduce Low-Sodium Sea Salt Line, Wondersalt

Salt of the Earth, an Israeli salt producer, is set to introduce low-sodium sea salt line, WonderSalt, designed to facilitate lower sodium intake targets for children.

The low sodium sea salt supplemented with fruit and vegetable essences will be launched at Anuga, a food fair for the retail trade and the food service and catering market, scheduled to be held from 5 - 9 October in Cologne, Germany.

According to the company, WonderSalt is enriched with extracts of vegetables and fruits such as radish, carrot, apple and lemon, provides natural coloring and contains 50% sodium of common salt, while offering identical taste.

It comprises proprietary mix of sodium and potassium in combination with natural essences of fruits and vegetables to create a vegetarian low-sodium salt, and is available in yellow, red, orange and green colors.

Salt of the Earth marketing director Inbal Trop Kirsch said consumers in general, and children in particular, could be getting too much sodium in their diet.

"Salt is invisible when added to foods. By coloring WonderSalt with fruit and vegetable essences, it is possible not only to help kids and adults eat low-sodium foods, as a bonus, they can see how much salt to put on their food," Kirsch added.

"Salt of the Earth is focused on developing a line of high-value sodium reduction solutions to address specific markets."

The company produces and markets, advanced sodium-reduction solutions made from natural salt harvested from the Red Sea, to food manufacturers and retailers across the world.
