Graham Group, the parent company of blow molding equipment maker Graham Engineering has acquired controlling interest in the American Kuhne (A-K) from The Kuhne Group of Sankt Augustin, Germany.
A-K Extrusion Systems vice president Steve Maxson said Graham Engineering can benefit from the extrusion expertise offered by A-K, especially when it comes to the company's Steward Barrier Screw technology.
"We see opportunities to advance our position even more within the medical extrusion industry and to further develop complete systems for other markets, such as pipe and profile," Maxson said.
Graham Engineering manufactures and sells plastics processing machinery, primarily for the packaging industry.
American Kuhne supplies standard and customized single screw extruders, feed screws, extrusion systems, and turnkey systems for medical applications, pipe, tubing, and profile systems.
