Louisiana-based developer of specialty chemicals Albermarle announced the opening of Albemarle's Asia-Pacific Center of Excellence (CoE), its Asia-Pacific shared services center in Dalian, China, that would complement facilities in Baton Rouge and Budapest.
The centers are aimed at improving the processes, and which result in a single, scalable and automated platform for the firm's business to improve productivity.
According to the firm, it chose Dalian because of support and engagement of the local community and government officials, and also because of its geographical location between the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea and the availability of a well-educated talent.
Albemarle senior vice president and chief financial officer Scott Tozier said the firm looks forward to the opening of the Asia-Pacific Center of Excellence.
"At Albemarle, our focus is on performance excellence in everything we do. This site will undoubtedly enable us to better serve our customers in the Asia-Pacific region. The exceptional local talent and the support of the local community and government made Dalian the ideal choice for this new CoE," Tozier added.
Albemarle produces chemicals used in consumer electronics, petroleum refining, utilities, packaging, construction, automotive/transportation, crop protection and pharmaceuticals.
