Having asserted itself as a top club last season, ambitions of FC Anji grow greater each year. The young team rings in a new era for 2013-14 with a bright, bold home kit by Nike.
The Dagestani club, founded in 1991, is well-known for its strong-willed character and deep-seated traditions based on respect for fans and for the history of the republic`s capital.
Anji is named after the ancient area in Dagestan where the new and modern Makhachkala city has emerged. The word “anji” is translated as a pearl, a symbol of longevity and well-being.
The home kit design features a traditional combination of green and yellow and reflects the values of the club while displaying a contemporary aesthetic to match their new ultra-modern stadium.
“I like the new design of our kit. It is very bright and will look great at the new stadium. There are great challenges facing us in a new season and we hope the new kit will bring luck to our team,” says Anji player Yuri Zhirkov.
“The new kit incorporates the best Nike innovations to help athletes enhance their performance on the pitch. Many years` experience of working with the world`s top clubs helps us constantly improve our product,” says General Manager of Nike Russia Jim Reynolds. “We`re glad to offer our new product to FC Anji.”
The jersey has a dynamic cut informed by innovative 3-D body scans for a perfect fit. The half-round collar and cuffs lend a fresh look to the kit. The club crest with the traditional eagle is placed on the left side of the chest, close to the heart. Yellow shorts with green stripes complete the look.
The new kit is made of Nike Dri-FIT fabric that effectively keeps moisture away from a player`s body and maintains an optimal microclimate during the game.
“The new season is the beginning of a new stage. We must not forget our traditions and are glad the kit represents the values of both the team and the fans,” says FC Anji General Manager Ayvaz Kaziakmedov.
