Semiconductor materials suppliers expect demand for high-end packaging to remain strong and buoy their sales in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Ampoc Fareast and Niching Industrial have both indicated clear order visibility through the end of 2014, thanks to brisk demand for advanced IC packaging.
Ampoc noted shipments of its semiconductor materials are expected to register flat or slight growth sequentially in the fourth quarter of 2014. Ampoc Fareast also provides equipment for the manufacture of PCBs. The visibility of orders from the PCB sector has extended to the first quarter of 2015, the company said.
Ampoc forecast its 2014 sales and profits will outperform the levels a year ago.
Niching, which distributes equipment for Simmtech and Small Precision Tools (SPT), expects fourth-quarter sales to increase 5-10% on quarter. Niching has landed more orders for the production of FC CSP substrates.
