MDF/HDF prices have come under mounting pressure again in the course of recent weeks after stabilising briefly in July and August. Central European MDF/HDF manufacturers have run their mills at relatively normal levels again since August after scaling back output in the long term by slowing down production speeds, among other measures. Lengthy stoppages have not occurred in the past few weeks. However, most producers were barely interested in raising their capacity again amid what they described as inadequate prices. At any rate, higher production costs arising from using more adhesive and wood would slim their already tight margins. Source: euwid-wood-products
