Infinera Corp of Sunnyvale, CA, USA, a vertically integrated manufacturer of digital optical network systems incorporating its own indium phosphide-based photonic integrated circuits (PICs), says that Korea's Dacom Crossing has deployed Infinera's DTN-X packet optical networking platform delivering a fully integrated network connecting Seoul, the terrestrial backhaul network and the EAC Korea landing station.
Infinera Intelligent Transport Network enables Dacom Crossing to offer 10, 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) services in addition to existing International Private Lease Circuit services up to 10 Gigabit per second (Gb/s). With Infinera Instant Bandwidth, Dacom Crossing further benefits from the rapid deployment of bandwidth in 100 Gb/s increments on demand.

Dacom Crossing provides wholesale services to tier one carriers, ISP's and content providers, and is the first Korean network operator to deploy Infinera's solutions.

Infinera's DTN-X converges five Terabits of non-blocking OTN switching into the same platform, resulting in more efficient network utilization when compared to conventional WDM architectures, says the firm. Intelligent software combined with this converged platform automates manual operations to lower operational costs and enable faster service delivery.
