Growers Will Decrease Corn Planting While Increasing Soybean Seeding This Year

Informa Economics said in a report to clients on Friday that U.S. growers will decrease corn planting while increasing soybean seeding this year, according to traders.

Farmers will probably plant 93.319 million acres with corn this year, down from 95.365 million last year, Informa said, according to traders. Soybeans will probably be seeded on 81.264 million acres, up from 76.533 million last year, according to the private forecaster, traders said.

Winter wheat planting probably fell to 41.892 million acres from 43.090 million, Informa said, according to traders. Rice seeding was pegged at 2.751 million acres, up from 2.489 million.
