The panel industry will continue to move in the direction of producing bezel-free, larger-size and higher-resolution products in 2014, according to AU Optronics (AUO) president Paul Peng.
Ultra HD TV panels will also be a major focus and are expected to have advantages in the TV segment as OLED TV panel pricing remains high due to high costs involved in production, said Peng.
The president also said consumers can expect to see more Ultra HD desktop computers and commercial displays appear in the market during 2014
AUO currently produces 27- and 32-inch displays in addition to 42-, 50-, 55- and 65-inch TV displays, and plans to release 75- and 85-inch products.
