November Had The Lowest Number of Unemployed People in The U.S. Since Five Years Ago

November had the lowest number of unemployed people in the U.S. since five years ago, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' monthly employment report.

The unemployment rate for November was at 7 percent, lower than the 7.3 percent rate recorded the previous month. It was also the lowest rate recorded since October 2008, when the unemployment rate was 6.8 percent.

The trucking industry added over 8,000 jobs in November.

The transportation and warehousing sectors together added 31,000 new jobs, which were split between couriers and messengers, truck transportation, warehousing and storage and air transportation.

The manufacturing sector also grew by 27,000 jobs with over 8,000 in food manufacturing and 7,000 in motor vehicles and parts.
