Alternative toy list the Slow Toy Awards is set to return this October, following success last year.
And the team behind Slow Toy Awards 2013 promises to make the event "bigger and better than ever".
The search to find this year’s 'Slow Seven' begins in May, with concrete dates to be confirmed later.
The judging panel this year includes Kate Carter, the life and style editor at the Guardian online, Liat Hughes Joshi, parenting journalist and published author of ‘What to Buy Your Baby’, Angellica Bell and Michael Underwood, the much loved TV presenters, and mummy blogger Nicola Hinchcliffe from ‘Monsters Funhouse’.
"The Slow Toy movement and its awards aim to recognise the ‘real toys’ on the market that are well made, inspire the mind and provide children far more than the noise and flashing lights commonly associated with the toys of today," read a statement.
"The disappearance of the educational abacus, the beautifully crafted wooden toy and the much loved dolls house that encourages creativity and imagination is still very much the issue at the heart of this campaign."
The winners of this year’s awards will get a badge of honour and will be sold "in a prestigious store" in the run up to Christmas.
Founder of the original Slow Toy Movement, Thierry Bourret, said: “I am overwhelmed with the success of the Slow Toy Awards, the reaction to the campaign has exceeded my expectations ten-fold and I am so excited that the awards are taking place again this year.
"I can’t wait to see what entries we get and to give the Slow Toy recognition to seven toys that are well made, inspire the mind and have true play value."
