According to media report on the last day of 2013, the future prices of the steel deformed bar has gained for a third day in Shanghai Future Exchange as high as 0.4 percent to about US$598/ton.

The reason is to be believed that it is concerned that the supply of iron ore from Australia may face uncertainty due to a cyclone heading into Australia.

The 2013–14 Australian region cyclone season is an event in the ongoing cycle of tropical cyclone formation. It officially started on 1 November 2013, and will end on 30 April 2014.
