New York-based Optima Distributors is recalling Del Campo brand Dried Potato as the product contains sulfites that is not mentioned on the label,according to the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets(NYSDAM).
The recall was initiated after a routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets food inspectors and product analysis by Food Laboratory personnel showed that the product contained high levels of sulfites.
The product being recalled is packed in 14 oz.plastic bag and it bears a date code of"S 2012"and a UPC code of 8-91728-00021-8 on the back side of package.
NYSDAM said that the product was distributed in the New York City metro area and is a product of peru.
The agency advised consumers intolerant to sulfites not to consume this product as it may result in serious reactions.Till date there have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of this product.
