German carmaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to unveil the new B-Class Electric Drive concept car at the upcoming 2012 Paris motor show in France.
The new electric vehicle (EV) will be powered by an electric motor that will generate an output of 134hp and a 310Nm of torque.
Mercedes-Benz claims that on full charge, the B-Class Electric Drive can travel 200km.
Battery of the B-Class EV can be charged through a 230V power outlet or can be quickly charged at a 400V high-voltage terminal.
According to the carmaker, the Energy Space in the floor of the vehicle in front of the rear axle will ensure the availability of similar variable space as the existing series production models.
The Energy Space will offer a safe and space-saving accommodation for the lithium-ion battery which will also have a positive effect on the concept's centre of gravity, the carmaker said.
Claimed to be ready for production, the new B-class Electric Drive compact is scheduled for market launch in 2014.
At the Paris motor show, Mercedes Benz will also unveil the production versions of its SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive and the smart BRABUS electric drive.
