The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (ACBPS) has announced that it has completed its antidumping (AD) duty investigation regarding galvanized steel and aluminum zinc-coated steel imports from China, South Korea and Taiwan as well as its countervailing duty (CVD) investigation regarding galvanized steel and aluminum zinc-coated steel imports from China.
The ACBPS has found that galvanized steel imports from China, South Korea and Taiwan were dumped with margins ranging from 2.6 percent to 62.9 percent, while aluminum zinc-coated steel imports from China and South Korea were dumped with margins ranging from 5.5 percent to 19.3 percent. It was also found that galvanized steel imports from China to Australia were subsidized with margins ranging from 5.2 percent to 22.8 percent, while aluminum zinc-coated steel imports from China were subsidized with margins ranging from 5.0 percent to 21.7 percent.
The dumped and subsidized imports caused material injury to the Australian industry and continued dumping and subsidization may cause further material injury to the domestic industry.
The combined antidumping and countervailing duties for galvanized and aluminum zinc-coated steel imports from the abovementioned countries range from 2.6 percent to 69.9 percent and from 5.5 percent to 29.5 percent respectively.
