Gyrotron:Files a Provisional Patent Application for a New Technology for Glass Tempering

BENSALEM, PA--(Marketwired - Gyrotron Technology Inc. (PINKSHEETS: GYTI), developer of innovative industrial technologies, has filed a provisional patent application for a new technology for glass tempering, one of the primary methods of producing safety glass. The technology utilizes the gyrotron, a very powerful source of high frequency microwave energy. Most safety glass is produced by tempering and/or by laminating. Tempered glass is used extensively in the automotive and construction industries.

Potential advantages of GYTI's technology include:

1. a very significant reduction in energy usage

2. the opportunity to heat temper thinner glass than can be heat tempered with legacy technology

3. elimination of certain surface distortions (waving), thus improving suitability for new applications.

"We are very pleased with the opportunity to address the huge market for tempered glass with a process that could result in very significant energy saving," said Dr. Vlad Sklyar, President of GYTI. "This technology, together with our proven and patented technology for laminating glass, makes GYTI the destination of choice for safety glass technology."
