Official images of the McLaren P1 production car have leaked online ahead of its unveiling at next week’s 2013 Geneva motor show.
The leaked press shots – which appeared on Russian website AutoWP – confirm the highly anticipated road car will be almost identical to the P1 concept that debuted at the 2012 Paris motor show in September.
Distinguishing the production McLaren P1 from the blazing orange concept are new carbonfibre vents at the corners of the front bumper, a more intricate mesh pattern across the rear, a set of road tyres, and a striking bright yellow body colour.
The images surface just one week from the world premiere of the McLaren P1, which will take place at the Swiss show on March 5.
Late last week, the British sports car manufacturer confirmed its spiritual successor to the McLaren F1 would be powered by a hybrid system capable of producing 673kW and 900Nm.
Teaming an uprated version of the MP4-12C’s twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 with an electric motor and a lightweight battery pack, the McLaren P1 will be capable of both blistering acceleration and zero-emissions driving for up to 10km in pure-electric mode.
More details of the McLaren P1 will be revealed in the lead up to its unveiling in Geneva next week.
