According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year the domestic producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general decreased by 0.52 percent from April and was up 11.28 percent year on year, while an average rise of 8.66 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.
In May this year, the domestic PPI for Turkey's basic metal industry decreased by 1.38 percent on month-on-month basis and was up 11.66 percent compared to May 2013. Meanwhile, the average increase in the domestic PPI for the latest 12 months was 7.84 percent.
On the other hand, in May of the current year the domestic PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, fell 0.57 percent compared to April and was up 13.67 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 9.20 percent in the PPI index was registered for the latest 12 months.
