South Africa's Export Value of Base Metals and Articles Thereof Was ZAR 84.7 Billion

In November this year, the value of South Africa's exports of base metals and articles thereof totaled ZAR 8.8 billion ($1 billion), increasing by 10 percent or ZAR 808 million ($95.6 million) over the previous month, according to data released by the South African Revenue Service. In the first 11 months of the current year, South Africa's export value of base metals and articles thereof was ZAR 84.7 billion ($10 billion), down 3.2 percent compared to the first 11 months of 2011.

In November, the country's imports of base metals and articles thereof decreased by 5.5 percent or ZAR 205 million ($24.2 million) compared to October this year, amounting to ZAR 3.5 billion ($414.7 million), while in the first 11 months of the year South African imports of base metals and articles thereof rose by 14.3 percent year on year to ZAR 36.45 billion ($4.3 billion).
