The US business group of Sun Life Financial has established a dedicated Small Business Center, offering brokers and their clients' access to life, disability, and dental products for employee groups with 2-24 people.
The firm said that the new center will enable it to streamline processes and increase efficiency in business with a faster turnaround time from quote to issue, thereby strengthening its footprint in service and standing in small business market.
According to the insurer, the center will deploy clients' dedicated account managers for customer service who will provide support at each stage of the relationship.
The center will offer convenient access to the same benefits Sun Life provides to larger companies, including life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), short-term and long-term disability and dental.
It will also have 16 small business specialists who will offer services pertaining to small employer plans and can turn around a quote to a broker in an expedited fashion.
Sun Life distribution support vice president Joel Sanders said small business is big business for the firm and it is pleased to strengthen its commitment to this market by making it easier for brokers to do business with the company.
"Many of the 4.5 million US companies with less than 25 employees have never bought group disability benefits before. By establishing this center, we'll help employers attract and retain employees by giving them access to benefits that help their financial well-being," Sanders added.
Sun Life Financial operates in key markets globally, including Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, India, China and Bermuda.
