Global rethinker of the paper, biomaterials, wood products and packaging industry Stora Enso has announced that its renewable packaging division will be divided into two parts, consumer board and packaging solutions.
The two divisions will become separate reporting segments from 1 January 2015.
With the restructuring of the divisions, the company aims to move a step further towards strengthening its focus on customers, business performance and growth. It will also lead to increased transparency in financial reporting.
Apart from the division of the segment, the company has also appointed Jari Latvanen as EVP, head of consumer board and as a member of the group leadership team as of 1 January 2015.
The company said that since 2010, Latvanen has worked as CEO for Findus Nordic operations before which he had made a long international career within the Nestlé group.
Stora Enso CEO Karl-Henrik Sundstrm said: "Jari Latvanen has a long and relevant experience from working with strong brands and corporate strategies. I am convinced that he will be a valuable contribution to the team and strengthen our customer focus even further."
Stora Enso's current SVP for packaging solutions Hannu Alalauri has been appointed as acting head for packaging solutions.
Currently, the company employs close to 29 000 people across the world and had recorded sales of €10.6bn in 2013.
It produces about 7.7 million tonnes of paper and 4 million tonnes of board and 1.3 billion square metres of corrugated packaging every year.
