In January of the current year, motor vehicle sales in Turkey totaled 34,288 units, decreasing by 7.68 percent year on year, according to the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD). In the given month, passenger car sales in Turkey amounted to 24,368 units, falling 5.68 percent year on year.
On the other hand, in January this year Turkey's motor vehicle exports came to 51,423 units, decreasing by 10.82 percent, while its passenger car exports amounted to 35,925 units, increasing by 28.48 percent, both year on year. The country exported 13,720 small trucks in the period in question, down 48.81 percent year on year. Revenues from total motor vehicle and component exports in the given month amounted to $1.63 billion, rising by 8.60 percent, while the revenue from passenger car exports totaled $493.08 million, rising by 16.64 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In January of the current year, Turkey's passenger car imports decreased by 6.67 percent year on year to 18,208 units, while Turkey's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 22,680 units, falling by 4.17 percent year on year.
