Kilchoman Distillery Selects Thinfilm's NFC Solutions to Enhance Consumer Engagement

Scottish distillery Kilchoman Distillery has selected Thin Film Electronics' NFC solutions to improve brand and drive consumer engagement.

Thinfilm’s NFC solutions will be used to engage with and educate consumers, communicate Kilchoman's brand story, and speed up business growth.

Smart hangtags featuring NFC SpeedTap technology will be integrated with bottles of its two whiskies – Machir Bay and Sanaig.

The smart tag bottles have been deployed initially in European markets and they will allow the distillery to begin a one-to-one consumer engagement experiences on-premise, in-store and at-home, all by simply tapping with a smartphone with NFC.

The distillery will use Thin Film’s CNECT platform to manage the delivery of digital content and enhance its overall effectiveness.

The cloud-based software system is fully integrated with NFC tags and allows Kilchoman to monitor real-time tapping activity, analyze campaign effectiveness and can adjust dynamically to consumer experiences through its portal.

Kilchoman Distillery was founded in 2005. It uses the message ‘from barley to bottle’ and a business model to build an authentic brand.
