Alacero,the Latin American steel association,participated at the recent Economics Committee meeting of the World Steel Association(worldsteel)held in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates(UAE).During the meeting the Economics Committee predicted that global finished steel consumption will rise by an estimated 3.1 percent to 1.53 billion metric tons in 2014 and by 3.3 percent to 1.58 billion metric tons in 2015,both on year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile,during the meeting Alacero stated that Latin America's finished steel consumption is expected to reach 64.1 million metric tons in 2014,up 3.4 percent,and is expected to increase by three percent in 2015,both on year-on-year basis.
