According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first half of this year Turkey's flat steel imports, including hot rolled, cold rolled, coated and narrow strip steel, increased 25.6 percent compared to the same period of 2012, totaling 3 million metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $2 billion, rising 12.8 percent year on year.
In June this year, Turkey's flat steel imports amounted to 496,435 metric tons, rising by 8.6 percent compared to the previous month and increasing 10.1 percent year on year.
