Germany-based label manufacturer Herma has announced the launch of its new multi-layer technology to produce a self-adhesive material intended specifically for wine label producers.
According to Herma, the new HERMAexquisite range has a special 62W adhesive that offers good adhesive properties in the cool and damp conditions in which wine bottles are stored regularly. The labels remain attached to the bottles, even after prolonged submersion in a wine cooler.
Herma managing director Dr Thomas Baumg rtner said the multi-layer technology enables label manufacturers to enjoy the benefit without any compromises.
"These benefits are achieved because we apply two different layers of adhesive at the same time. We can thus very accurately control both the adhesive and the converting parameters independently," Baumg?rtner said.
The HERMAexquisite range primarily consists of various textured and moisture-proof papers, but also includes coated papers, aluminum papers and films.
