Peugeot is considering recreating its iconic Climb Dance video at this year’s Pike’s Peak hill climb event in Colorado.

The original climb dance, which was shot at the 1988 and 1989 event, with Finish rally champion Ari Vatanen and Robby Unser behind the wheel, has gone on to become one of the most iconic motorsport videos of all time.

Lasting just 5:15 minutes long, Climb Dance won the 1990 Grand Prix Du Film in Festival De Chamonix, Silver Screen at US Industrial Film & Video Festival (Chicago), Prix Special Du Jury at the Festival International Du Film D’Aventure Val D′Isere and the Golden Award at the International Film Festival (Houston).

At the 2013 Pike’s Peak event, which CarAdvice is attending, Peugeot and partners Red Bull and Total are in talks to recreate Climb Dance with the world’s best rally driver, French born Sebastian Loeb behind the wheel.

At last week’s launch of the Peugeot 208 GTi, the company’s head of global public relations, Xavier Crespin, told CarAdvice that there are talks of recreating the films with the new Peugeot 208 GTi T16 and there’s even potential for Ari Vatanen to attend with the original 405 Coupe considered for a special display at the event.
