12 hand-picked Peruvian textile and garment suppliers will be showcased to buyers and press in London for the first time from 4th to 5th October 2012.
Promperu,the Peruvian Commission for the Promotion of Tourism and Exports,has collaborated with the specialised consulting agency,Clothing Connect,to sponsor and organise The Source:Peru,a luxury production sourcing opportunity a high profile show-room event at The Future Gallery in London.
Together,they are presenting high quality garments made in baby alpaca,alpaca and pima cotton for men,women and children.Fashion and home accessories will also be featured.
All the participants are established internationally,and already produce for international brands and designers by offering highly skilled capabilities and flexible production terms.
Majority of the garments are made with yarns sourced from local spinners.
Organic cotton is widely used.These Peruvian entrepreneurs are passionate about their skilled work and will be able to tell the stories of each and every garment they present.Many of them are able to supply customised hand-knitted and hand-woven products based on specific requirements.At present,it is a good time to establish trading relations with Peru,as Peruvian products benefit from duty-free access to Europe and the UK.Clothing Connect B.V.is a specialised textile and clothing industry project management and consulting firm with headquarters in The Netherlands and a representation office in the UK as of 2012.It has conducted market linkage programmes for several export promotion agencies such as Enterprise Mauritius by opening up the Italian market for Mauritian suppliers and PROMPERU,by linking Peruvian high end suppliers with buyers in Netherlands amongst others.
