Indian pharmaceutical company Dr Reddy's Laboratories has initiated recall of over 117,000 bottles of its tizanidine tablets from the US market over labeling issue.
The United States Food and Drug Administration (USDA) issued a notification stating that the bottle labels may not contain the strength of the product as well as other printing details.
Dr Reddy's, which sells 4mg strength tizanidine tablets in 150 count bottles, is recalling the product from the market under a Class-III recall.
It implies that the use of the drug or exposure to it is not likely to cause adverse health consequences.
Tizanidine drug is used as a muscle relaxant and to treat the spasms, cramping and tightness of muscles caused by various medical problems.
