Epiwafer foundry and substrate maker IQE plc of Cardiff, Wales, UK says that, in a gala ceremony at the 2013 Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards in London, UK on 27 November, its Group CEO Dr Drew Nelson was presented with Electronics Weekly's Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution to the electronics and semiconductor industries.
Now in its 11th year, the annual Elektra Awards give the industry the opportunity to recognize the achievements of individuals and companies across Europe.
"I am deeply honoured to receive this award and delighted and proud to have been involved is such a fast-paced global industry that has had a major impact on the way we live, work, play and communicate," said Nelson in accepting the award. "I am confident that we are on the verge of a new wave of revolutionary technologies that will be enabled by advanced semiconductors and electronic designs," he added.
