Russian chocolate company Ozersky Souvenir Company has launched a square shaped chocolate branded O’zera using packaging concept from Bradman Lake.
The multinational company which deals in integrated packaging technology said that it had to come up with a packaging comprising hollow wall boxes with hinged lids for the new Ozersky chocolates.
Bradman Lake said that it had worked jointly with the chocolate maker’s cardboard suppliers to find the most cost effective solution.
The packaging technology company has claimed to have designed a system comprising a mechanical HS carton erector.
Through a conventional 4-corner lock system along with a triple head is said to have resulted in maximum output rates of 180 cartons per minute.
The equipment feeds the carton blanks in to the forming tool by using a method called the direct placement method.
Bradman Lake claims the method to deliver improved performance. It also provides a quick and easy setup through the factory set tooling, said the company.
It added that flat carton blanks are stacked in the hoppers, which can be re-filled during machine operation.
Using vacuum cups and by placing in register on the forming took, the cartons are extracted from the hopper during the cycle.
Besides, a plunger moves down to push the carton blank into the forming tool. It is then said to fold up the sidewalls and at the same time engages the corner locks.
Bradman Lake also claims that the new erector installation also helped Ozersky to save significantly on consumables.
Last week, Bradman Lake showcased its packaging technology solutions at the Gulfood Manufacturing 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The solutions included flow wrapping, roll wrapping, carton forming, case packing, carton closing, and robotic top loading.
