Turkey's Finished Steel Output Increased 6.5 Percent Year on Year to 33.30 Million Metric

In the January-November period of last year, Turkey's finished steel output increased 6.5 percent year on year to 33.30 million metric tons, according to the report released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). In given period, Turkey's finished steel output consisted of 24.36 million metric tons of long products, up 5.5 percent, and 8.93 million metric tons of flat products, up by 9.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, 73.2 percent of the total finished steel output consisted of long products and 26.8 percent was accounted for by flat products.

On the other hand, in the first 11 months of 2013 Turkey's finished steel consumption increased by 10 percent year on year to 28.77 million metric tons, while consumption of long products rose 15.42 percent and flat products consumption increased by 6.6 percent to 13.34 million metric tons. In given period, 53.6 percent of total finished steel consumption was for long products and 46.4 percent was accounted for by flat products.
