Live Oak Brewing in the US has broken ground on a new brewery in Austin, Texas, a move that will ramp up the company's production capacity.
The proposed brewery will include a custom German-built brewhouse, millroom, lab, cold storage and distribution facilities, Brewbound reported.
It is being backed by Commerce National Bank, Capital CDC, Structura General Contractors, Big Red Dog, OPA Design and American Realty.
Commenting on the development, Live Oak Brewing owner Chip McElroy said: "We want to make this a destination for natives and visitors alike, especially since it is so close to the airport. It will be the perfect place for tourists to start off and end their visit to Austin - observing native Austinites in their natural habitat - under shade, next to water, with a beer in their hand."
The company uses decoction mash, open fermentation, and secondary lagering in the preparation of beers.
Additionally, Live Oak plans to expand its product presence to grocery, convenience and package stores in the fourth quarter of 2015, by adding a new canning line.
Currently, Live Oak Brewing offers 16 beers across the greater Houston area and self-distributed throughout Austin, Central Texas, San Antonio and the DFW area.
