Belfonte Ice Cream and Dairy Foods has recalled peanut butter containing ice cream in the US.The recall was initiated after the company's peanut butter supplier-Sunland,informed that the products received may be contaminated with Salmonella.
This recall covers Home Run Sundae(Belfonte 56oz Rectangular Carton),and Mama's Choice Reverse Peanut Butter Pie(Belfonte56oz Rounded Square Container).This product was sold between April 2010 and October 2012 in retail and convenience stores in Missouri,Kansas,Oklahoma and Arkansas.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the recalled products and no other production dates of Belfonte Ice Cream and Dairy Foods are affected by this recall.
Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled.Consumption of food contaminated with this bacterium may cause food borne illness.
