It’s reported that China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest carbon steelmaker in Taiwan is going to release its list prices for steel wires and bars for October and November.
Industry source said that CSC might remain its list prices for steel wires and bars unchanged due to weak demand, in spite of higher raw material prices.
At present, the spot iron ore prices have surged to US$139.5~US$140.5/ton CFR.
However, as the major downstream buyers, Taiwanese screw manufacturers have had bad performance in export market since April, the demand for CSC’s steel wires and bars might remain weak.
Affected by these factors, CSC might leave its list prices for steel wires and bars unchanged for October and November.
