Germany-based Peter Mertes KG winery has selected the new wine can with the protected quality seal from Ball Packaging Europe. Peter offers four different City wine drinks in the newly developed 20cl slim aluminum wine can.
Ball Packaging Europe sales manager Daniel Etchemendy said the can has been designed to satisfy the standards of producers such as the Mertes winery specifically.
"The Protected Quality seal from Ball gives them the assurance of consistent quality based on verifiable criteria, and a shelf-life of at least twelve months for still and sparkling canned wines," Etchemendy said.
The 20cl or 25cl can has a special interior coating and an extra-thick wall and is closed with a lid that meets various requirements. The beverage can is also light-proof and impermeable to oxygen.
Ball claims that the lightweight cans are unbreakable and are suitable for consumption on the go.
