The Material Has a Much Lower Density in Comparison to PET

Nyco, a Clondalkin Group company, has announced the launch of a new recyclable polyolefin sleeve, which enables to separate shrink sleeves from PET bottles or cups by automated recycling processes.

The new low density material is said to improve recycling efficiency and exhibits machinability, flatness and high tensile strength.

As with all of the products available from Nyco, the polyolefin sleeve, which can be stored at room temperature, can be printed rotogravure, UV flexo and UV offset. It has been developed in response to market demands for recyclable packaging.

Nyco sales & marketing manager Sander Kool said, "The material has a much lower density in comparison to PET which makes the automated separation process very easy thus increases recyclability and reduces waste to landfill."

Switzerland-based Nyco produces shrink sleeves, lidding films and foils and reel fed material for the dairy, confectionery, pharmaceutical and beverage markets.
