Michigan-based Short’s Brewing is planning to expand its 4,000sqft Bellaire brewpub with an investment of $1.2m to enhance efficiency and provide better customer service.
The company is currently in the process of acquiring three lots and four buildings in the downtown area adjacent to its current location.
The expansion will almost double floor space of brewpub and provide additional seats for customers apart from adding a new retail store.
Short's founder and CEO Joe Short, said: "We're excited to take another step in the evolution of our company while creating even more reasons that Bellaire, MI, will be a stand-out craft beer destination in the United States."
About 20 new jobs will be created during construction, which is expected to be completed before summer 2014. The Village of Bellaire, Northern Lakes Economic Alliance (NLEA), and the State of Michigan are supporting the expansion plan.
