On April 18, the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) announced that in early April (Apr. 1-10) this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled 1.747 million mt, up 4.7 percent compared to late March (Mar. 21-31). Meanwhile, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China in early April was estimated at 2.152 million mt, indicating a rise of 3.8 percent compared to late March.
According to the CISA's previous figures, in late March this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China had amounted to 1.669 million mt, down 1.34 percent from mid-March (Mar. 11-20). In late March, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China was estimated at 2.073 million mt, indicating a decrease of 1.1 percent compared with mid-March.
Meanwhile, as of April 10, 2014, overall inventory of the main finished steel products in the major steel markets in China totaled 15.139 million mt, down 1.8 percent as compared to the figure recorded on March 31.
