Pharmatek Expanded Its Packaging Services at cGMP Facility in San Diego

US-based Pharmatek has expanded its packaging services with the installation and qualification of an automated bottling line at its cGMP facility located at San Diego in California.

The installation of the bottling line, which is slated to become fully operational in November 2013, represents part of the company's ongoing investment to support the rising customer demand for larger scale productions.

Equipped with a CVC electronic conveyor system and redundant quality inspection stations, the new line will provide benefits to both small and large volume clinical packaging projects, said the company.

CVC Technologies was responsible to manufacture the automated bottling line that comprises a Cremer electronic channel counter, capper, induction sealer, re-torquer and high speed wrap labeler.

Pharmatek claims that the new automatic bottling line is capable to improve the efficiency and accuracy of clinical packaging, helping in reducing overall costs and time-to-clinic.

According to the company, the line will enable it to increase its overall production capacity, allowing higher throughput and larger GMP manufacturing runs.

Pharmatek president Tim Scot said the company invests in automated clinical packaging to help its customers in supply chain management and speeding supplies to the clinic.

"This is an important enhancement to our offering, enabling us to continue to support our customers throughout their development program and into larger scale operations, added Scot.
