South Korea's LG Electronics unveiled a curved smartphone on Monday to catch its rival Samsung Electronics.
Curved displays and flexible screens have become the new battleground for phone manufacturers because those screens are likely to transform the high-end smartphone market eventually.
Curved phones make users feel more comfortable than flat-screen phone. However, experts said curved phones will not sell well du to its relatively-high cost and a lack of necessary features.
The new LG curved smartphone has a 6-inch screen. It's said that it will be available in three South Korea's mobile operator.
Analyst in the technology field and the media reported that Apple has conducted some research on smart watched with curved screens. But Apple hasn't commented on this issue.
