FDI in China in The January-October Period up 5.77 Percent

Overall foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the January-October period of the current year totaled $97.026 billion, up 5.77 percent year on year, as announced by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on November 19. In the given period, China gave approval for the establishment of 18,184 foreign-invested enterprises, down 9.18 percent from the same period a year earlier. In October alone, foreign direct investment in China totaled $8.416 billion, up 1.24 percent year on year.In the first 10 months of the current year, foreign direct investment in Chinese manufacturing fell by 5.25 percent year on year to $38.292 billion, accounting for a 39.47 percent share of the total figure for FDI in China in the period.Meanwhile, during the January-September period this year, the external trade of the Chinese services industry totaled $390.5 billion in value, up 13.4 percent, with exports accounting for $146.4 billion, up 6.8 percent, and imports totaling $244.1 billion, increasing by 17.8 percent, all year on year.
