Mondelez International and FLOCERT, a socially focused global certification body, have entered into a new partnership to authenticate cocoa volumes and commercial transactions for the company's $400m Cocoa Life program.
Cocoa Life will collaborate with FLOCERT to employ a custom-made version of its FLOTIS reporting system to validate the quantity of sustainably grown and traded cocoa and to verify Cocoa Life premium payments made to farmer organisations.
Originally developed to monitor Fairtrade certification, FLOTIS is a monitoring tool that enables FLOCERT to support verification programmes such as Cocoa Life.
The contract will be for three years, with an option to extend until 2022.

We are pleased at the opportunity to further support this cooperation by supplying them with our verification services to help the Cocoa Life program measure progress towards achieving its goals."
